Emily C. Moore

Emily is a native of Greensboro, North Carolina, and has had ties to the greater Raleigh area since 2006. Emily graduated magna cum laude in 2006 with a double degree in History and Political Science from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. She earned her Juris Doctorate from The Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University in 2009 and admitted to the North Carolina Bar that summer.

While in law school, Emily gained significant exposure to family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, property distribution, and domestic violence. Beginning in the summer of 2008 and continuing part-time during her last year of law school, Emily worked as a clerk with the law firm of Mast, Mast, Johnson, Wells, & Trimyer in Johnston County. While Emily handled a wide variety of civil matters, most of her time was spent working on family law matters playing an active role in all stages of litigation, from meeting with clients to assisting with a jury trial.
In her last two years at Campbell, Emily was active in The Juvenile Justice Project run through the law school, serving as a mediator.  The program is funded by the Governor’s Commission on Crime and provides an alternative to the current juvenile justice system, embracing the principles of restorative justice. This experience provided Emily with valuable insight into both criminal law and family law matters.

Since being admitted to the North Carolina Bar, Emily has practiced family law exclusively. She is well-versed in the new rules and procedures of the Wake County Family Court system.  She is a comfortable trial attorney who is also successful in resolving cases without litigation.

Emily is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association Family Law Section, The North Carolina Advocates for Justice Family Law section, and the Wake County Bar Association.
